Hello folks,

Thank you everyone who played at Public Ceilidh and helped it run so smoothly! It went well, and it seems like everyone had a great time. We even managed to eke out a profit, so everyone wins. Thankfully, now that the flurry of gigs is over, we can all relax a bit…

Rehearsal

As usual, we’ll be in Cohen Quad for rehearsal this week on Tuesday, starting at 8pm. We’ll then mosey on down to the Royal Blenheim for a session until closing time (11pm). We’ll be playing from the new folder, and I’ll bring a number of spares with me for people to borrow if they don’t yet have their own. If you’d like one for yourself, please bring £5 in cash and it can be yours! As a reminder, the folder can be viewed online here.

Folk Round Here

I hope you all saw Dan’s email last week about a brand new event in the OUCB calendar: Folk Round Here. A cross between an open mic night and a gig from a local band, it will be a great way to get a broader view of the local folk scene in Oxford. You can buy tickets here and/or sign up for an open mic slot here if you’d like a cheaper ticket. The local band we’ll be hearing from is the inestimable Bailey and Keely, whose debut album Atthomis was released last year. Spread the word, bring your friends, and sign up for a slot!

Tune of the Week

In honour of Bailey and Keely, the tune of the week this week is their own Parson Upon Page, the second tune in this set from their album.
