Hi everyone,

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for, I'm incredibly excited to let you know TICKETS ARE NOW LIVE for our very first Folk Round Here! This will be taking place on 20th November (Thurs. 6th Wk.) at St Columba’s Church, doors at 8pm.

This is a new folk-club-style music night that Eva and I are running, and is open to anyone to come along and listen or perform (university or not). Tunes are great, but songs are just as a big a part of the trad scene and often don’t fit in to sessions/ceilidhs. This is the perfect event to hear both!

The first half will be an open mic with floor spots - anyone can sign up in advance to perform a song or set of tunes (or indeed anything else of a trad/folk bend!). This means we're looking for people from the band to sign up! Slots are around 5 minutes long and open to solos or groups, with the opportunity to do 1 or 2 slots (and also come with half-price entry!). If you're interested, please SIGN UP HERE or come speak to me. I’m really excited to hear what the band brings :)

The second half will be a guest spot by a local band, in this case we have the insanely talented Bailey and Keely playing some electrifying tunes from across the English tradition. Anyone who has seen them play live or heard their recent debut album Atthomis will attest this isn’t a gig to miss! Below is a clip from their recent launch gig at the Isis Farmhouse.

This will be a wonderful night showcasing the thriving Oxford folk scene. Please share this with friends, acquaitances, random strangers on the street. Tickets and floor spot sign-ups can be found on our website and socials, and we’ll also be printing out some flyers which will be ready for next rehearsal.

Looking forward to seeing many of you there!

Dan
